What that means in practice
Every dollar paid for a CKSTEM course or a CIC contest registration funds: instructor stipends, the Moodle learning platform (learn.competitivekids.org), contest licensing fees for global olympiads, awards and medals, and the technology that runs the contest pipeline. There are no investor returns, no executive bonuses, and no advertising spend.
Governance
CKSTEM is governed by an executive committee. Decisions about course offerings, fee structures, and contest partnerships are made by the committee, not by individuals. Annual financial summaries are available on request.
How you can support us
- Enroll your child — fees keep the lights on and the contests running.
- Volunteer — instructors, contest invigilators, marking teams, and tech help. Get in touch.
- Refer a school — schools who join the CIC network bring more kids into structured competition.
- Sponsor a medal — contact us about contest sponsorship.
Charitable status
CKSTEM is a non-profit organization, not a Canada Revenue Agency–registered charity. We do not currently issue tax receipts. If you require a registered-charity counterpart for a corporate match, please contact us — we can often coordinate through partner organizations.
